Happy New Years
Many things have happened this year with Madison being born, Marisa and her family moving to Colorado, Inara's first birthday, our economy, the president and on and on.
I am thankful for all that has happened in 2008 and am ready for what 2009 will bring. There are many wonderful things that will be taking place this up and coming year for example, Aimee's is getting married, Jessica is getting married ( Sandra's sister), Madison's first birthday and who knows what else. I hope that 2009 will bring everyone a wonderful year!
There are many things that I want to work on this year which include getting more organized, putting things off, not getting inpatient so fast and probably some more things which I have to think about.
I hope everyone has a fun, safe and wonderful New Years!
HAPPY 2009 NEW YEARS!!!!

Madison's First Christmas
Recap on what happened during Christmas. Christmas eve Danny, Madison and I went to Palmdale to visit with his sister, niece's and his parents. This year was at his sister's house. We got there around 10 am and left their house about 5pm. We had a long drive ( 1 1/2 hrs) and it was going to rain. We arrived home about 7pm and my parents had made us dinner which was good. We then opened up gives since I was not going to be home on Christmas. It was a nice and quite Christmas eve. Christmas morning I went to work and it sucked! Not only did I have to work on Christmas, but we had no nurse's aids and no secretary! It was slow thank god, but it really sucked working on x-mas especially with no help!
Thank you everyone for all the gifts for Madison! She has alot of toys to play with which is great. I know she will never remember this day, but mommy and daddy will for ever! She did pull the wrapping paper as we pulled the gift.
Then on the 26th (which was danny's 27th b-day) Danny, Emerson and sis little brother went to Vegas! I decided to send Danny to Vegas because first it was his birthday and second because he worked really hard this past quarter and deserved a break! He said that they all had alot of fun! Also, he mentioned to me that he got picked up on by a girl and the girl then asked if he wanted to dance.. Danny said sorry I am married and walked away! Good boy papa!
I have decided to move to recovery as soon as I hear from the manager of the surgical department. I am tired of floor nursing and see that I am not likely it anymore! I do not want to bring my frustrations and anger home, so it is time to move to a new department.
New Years is going to be quite which I like. I do not like to be on the roads especially that night. I work New Years day!
This past weekend my parent's and I brought Madison to see my Uncle Mike and Aunt Trini. Boy, does she love Uncle Mike! Thank you very much Uncle Mike for cooking such a wonderful lunch it was great. It was great to see Spanky and visit with the three of them. The driving was great no traffic going both ways. It was 2 hrs there and 2 hrs back we did great timing!
I hope that everyone has a Happy and Safe New Years and I look forward to 2009!

What's Been Going On
Work has been very slow because of the holidays. On Thanksgiving weekend we only had 8 patients and our max is 30, so yes very slow. Also, if it was not for the insurance I have at work then I would quit and go to another hospital. All of the protocols, rules, and how they run the hospital are starting to get ridiculous. The hospital is expecting too much from nurses, we can only do so much!!!! And on top of that they are watching their productivity and cutting staff which is starting to get unsafe. I will keep you posted on the work situation. I became a nurse to help people and do everything safely, but now you are having to watch everything you do to protect your license.
Danny has his last final in Anatomy this Thursday which we cannot wait. He got an A in communications (which is the only A in the class) and an possibly an A in English, but we wont find out until next week. The English professor said if he got a 6 on the FEE (final exit exam) then she would give him an A; however, Danny got a 5, so we will see what he gets. Good job Babe keep up the hard work :)
I forgot to mention that Danny and I purchased another car. Yes, but we got a really good deal. It was a repo from our bank. It is a Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer edition, 8 seater, DVD player, leather seats, sunroof with only 7,200 miles for $23,000. We could not pass this car up! So I have officially bought my first car. No more leases for me! We will post a picture of it when Danny is done with his final.

Happy Early Thanksgiving
I hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! I will be working from 7a-7p. David, Jodi and Riley will be coming up for Thanksgiving to have dinner with Danny, my parents and Mady.
What is new with Madison: She has already gone through eating rice cereal, oatmeal, barley and now she has started on the yellow vegetables. I have first started her on squash. She does not like it because she makes these funny faces and it is so funny. She is truly really trying to hold herself up when she is sitting with anyone on the couch. Even when I put her in the car seat she is trying to lift her head forward (like the movement when you are trying to lift your head/body up to sit). She is laughing and standing up with assistance. These past two days for some reason she has being up waking up at 4 am and then going back to bed. Oh yeah, we got her a jumper and she loves jumping and she goes crazy when she is in it. Also, she is starting to grab things in her sight. She is growing up before my eyes.Danny and I should start on a new one already (j/k)
We have taken a couple of videos of Mady eating rice cereal for the first time and her in the jumper, so when you have time take a look.
Danny has finals the week of the 8th so hopefully you all will be thinking of him during this stressful time.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE :)

A time to Remember
So, as you all know Miss Madison is now 4 months old. We had went to the doctors last Wednesday for her 4 month check up. Of course, she got her shots which she did very well (as I did too). She cried for maybe a minute and then we went home. These are her measurements: 26 1/2 in (95%), 13.6 lbs (50 %) and the head is in the 30th %. She is getting so big I can not believe it. Also, at the doctors she talked about milestones which she is fully completely. Now, we have the privilege to start her on rice cereal. We started this on Sunday because I wanted to video tape this milestone in her life. She did a great job and ate almost everything. Danny did very well on his Anatomy test last Thursday and got the 4th highest grade in the class a 83% our of 23 students. The highest score was an 88%. Great job babe, keep up the good work. He has 3 more weeks left of school and boy we can not wait. He signs up for more classes today. We have decided that after he is done with all the pre -nursing courses he will apply to Moorpark, Pierce, Bakersfield, Arizona for nursing school and which ever he gets into first we will leave. It is almost a two year waiting list so that is why. Maybe I can talk him into Long Beach area too. Then, with my work I will become a traveling nurse and that way he will not have to work. Work is going well, but we are really slow. I am on-call today, but will probably get called in because there are surgeries and ER patients on hold. I also have to go into work another day this week because I have to go to competencies and if I do not go they pull you off the schedule and we can not have that happen. Also, we have decided that next summer maybe in July I will transfer to ICU to get some experience in there so I could transfer to Recovery. My ultimate goal is to be a traveling recovery nurse. Well, enjoy the video of Mady and her eating rice cereal! :)
There are two clips of Madi in our picture albums.

Quick Update
Well, my parents have left for a week to go visit a couple of friends. I did not know that I was working my mom so much that she needed a break from Miss Madison. No, just joking they had to go to a funeral for one of there friends husbands who had passed away suddenly.
Danny is doing great and only has 4 more weeks left of school and we both are counting down the weeks/days until it is over. However, next semeter will be a little better, but Mon & Wed he will be getting home at 9 pm and Tues & Thurs at 830 pm so 4 late days.
I am of course back at work and I am really not liking my department. You see our floor is pretty much elective surgery so when you have no one scheduling surgery we do not have a full floor and that means either calling you off or putting you on stand-by which really sucks. I have been put on stand-by twice in one pay period, but luckly I got called to come to work on one of those days. However, if this happens again I do not know what I am going to do. Either go to a different hospital, department or go back to nights so I will be able to work and make money. We will see what happens and I will keep you posted.
Now to the fun part of this blog, Miss Madison. Boy, is she getting bigger and bigger. On Saturday night Danny and I finally got to hear her laugh for about 2 mins and it was great. We both started to cry. She is still sleeping through the night, but Sunday morning she woke up at 3 am and went back to bed at 4 and last night she did not sleep very well, but she did put her self back to sleep. She was not crying or anything, but she was kicking and making funny noises. She is also beginning to kind of roll to one side while sucking her thumb. She is still only crying when she is hungry, uncomfortable or she is bored. We have our next Dr visit Nov 9th so we will see her measurements and get more shots, oh how much fun for Mommy! She is beginning to really try and hold up her head and likes to sit up (of course while holding her). She is doing great! Danny will post more pictures of her this week on the blog.

Miss Madison's Dedication
I started going to Stroller Strides which is a mommy and baby class. We go to the park and workout with our babies. I really enjoy it and I only go once a week because of my hours at work and the other hours do not work for me. I hope to met some new mommy friends.
Everything is going well in the Gonzalez household. Danny is still truckin along with school and work and is doing a great job. He only has 6 more weeks left of school and I keep encouraging him to hang in there and keep up the good work.
I do have to mention that I am in love with Craigslist.com. I have found two items for Miss Madison when she gets to be about 5 months she will be able to put them to use. They are in great condition and I got great deals. It is my new favorite shopping for Mady. You should look it up it has some great deals. I have got my dad hooked on it now.
I will have Danny post the pictures of her 3 month pictures, her dedication and some other pictures soon.

Back to Work
Work has changed so much with regards to dispensing medication, new protocols etc. So much to learn again in this line of business. This is why I kind of hate floor nursing because everything changes and it is never for the better. These people who think of this "great" ideas and they get implemented never think about the staff and if it is going to work for them. For example, we use to have medication carts and they are individual assigned to each patient and you role that cart to each of the rooms to dispense their medication to them. However, now we have to walk (I mean I do not mind the exercise since I can not work out the days I work) all the way to the middle of our department where there is a Pxis machine get out the medication for 1 patient, give them there medication then do it this each time for all 5 patients. It is a lot of work. Then, you have other patients wanting something for pain and then you have to go back to the machine to get that medication. And mind you that you have 5 nurses on the floor doing this for all the patients and their is one machine for that floor. Yep it sucks!
I truly missed Miss Madison on my first day back to work. I called my mom like 5 times I think to check to see how my mom was doing. I know Miss Madison is a great baby but since there was someone new I wanted to make sure they were both holding up and of course they were. My mom knows what to do, but since it has been a long time I just wanted to check in to see how things were going. On Wednesday I was talking with Miss Madison and telling her when mommy goes to work try to stay wake so we could see each other and she has been. On my first day back I held her and was telling her about my day and of course she was cooing back to me. I started crying because I truly missed her and all the fun we had playing, talking etc. I got past the crying and knew that me getting out of the house and going to work would make me a better mom when I come back home to take care of her. I work 3 days out of 4 which is great and I still get to be home with her and see her develop. I do not think I could do a Mon-Fri job because that would ultimately kill me emotionally.
I was suppose to work today but they have put me on stand-by which really sucks. I still have to go to work to get my flu shot and then I guess start cleaning the house.
Danny is doing great and working/studying hard. He has another test this Monday in another class so he will be studying all weekend.
This Sunday we are getting Mady blessed at our church and we are really excited.

I am so confused :{
A. Master's in Nursing
B. Master's in Nursing/ Health Administration (which is a combined course)
C. Certificate as a Legal Nurse Consultant
D. Forensic Nursing
All of these classes are online, but A and B are schedule week courses and C and D are courses that you do at your own time and you have up to 12 months to finish the classes. But, here is the really issue I am so worried I am going to do horrible because they are Graduate courses and I lose out on that money. Also, do I want to spend $20,000 for either A or B, or $ 4,000 on option C and D? I really have been looking for a sign, so God please someone give me a sign!!!!
Yes, having a Master's in nursing will help option C and D, but then option C I can work from home eventually once I build my clients and have some more experience, but at least I would have that certificate. Okay enough about me lets talk about Mady.
It has been day 4 with no poopies yet and I have been praying that she will go poopies because I really do not want to call the Dr on a Sat. again. She is 3 months already, boy can you believe it? I will take her picture today with Danny and have him post them on the computer this weekend. I forgot to mention that we have some more pictures and a video posted so check those out. On Sunday Oct 19th we are getting Miss Madison blessed at our church and I am so excited because I bought her the cutest dress for that day and also to have her introduced at our church. I know both sets of parents will be there and I hope that our friends will be able to make it along with other family.
Danny is hard at working with school work. He has to study hard this weekend because he has another test with Anatomy, but I know he will do great he has to just study hard.
I, on the other hand, as you read above have been stressing about what I should do. I go back to work next Thursday and also doing Flu shots for my hospital and Medcor my other per diem employer.
It is starting to get cooler here in Bako and so that means winter clothes and not taking Mady out so much.

Poor Miss Madison
Today, at 9 am I had to call the Dr to see if I needed to come in for her two problems and they said they wanted to see her at 12. The Dr said to keep giving the 1/2 water 1/2 juice but this time get the concentrated juice. Then, she looked at the anus and she did have the fissure at the 11 o'clock mark and she said to just put some neosporin ( do not know how to spell).
I really hope that her poopy problem will go away and she does not develop what I have. As for her eye I have to give some eye drops and it should go away and I am not too worried.
The weather is starting to get cooler and so she gets to wear new outfits for the winter time.
The rest of us are good and she just woke-up from her 1/2 night nap. So gotta go.

Locked Out
Danny was at work on Saturday about an hour away so there was no way he could come home to give me a key to the front door.
What a nightmare! Needless to say I now have a key to the front door and the garage is broken and some guys are coming out on Friday to fix the darn thing.

My First Outing by Myself
Danny and Miss Madison bonded and he told me that Mady loves the Guitar Hero. He said that she was sitting in her little chair and looked at the TV screen the whole time! She even was moving her arms and legs, he said. I am glad that they got to bond with each other since he hardly gets to see her and play with her. I am sure she had a great time too!

I Have the Smartest Husband!!!!
I am so proud of you papa! Keep up the good work and study hard! I will take care of Miss Mady, cooking, cleaning and laundry as long as you keep studying.

Quick Update
I must say I kind of can not wait to go back to work. I know probably when Miss Madison gets bigger I will regret having to go to work, but right now I think I need to really have something to do.
Danny, finally got time to upload my pictures so I could get them printed. I needed to start getting some scrap booking done so my load of pictures do not get too big to handle.
Danny has been working on the weekends, as well as, during the week because one of the facilities that Medcor covers, that facility is going through harvest season and their medical person works Monday-Saturday 12 hours days. So they asked Danny to cover the Sunday since they need someone there everyday. I think there are two or three more weeks of the harvest season, so I am hanging in there.
I had a dermo appt to get some moles looked at and they did a biopsy on two, so I have to call back in 10days to get the results.
Miss Madison is getting bigger and her development is definitely showing now. She is smiling and cooing when we talk to her. She is still not eating at a consistent rate. She will eat 3 one time then maybe 4 and then maybe 2 another time. I am trying to get a rate going, but its not like I can force it down her. Its like the dr said she will eat when she is hungry! She is still sleeping 6-7 hours at night which is nice, but she will not go to bed until at least 1130 or 12. The other night I tried to put her in the bassinet at 11 and she was just kicking, cooing and flapping her arms the whole time until she worked herself up a sweat. She finally cried so I had to pick her up, because she was so hot and then went to bed at 12 or 1215. She is holding her head up more and really starting to use those muscles, but I still have to hold her neck.
I will take some more pictures of her so you all can see her. I will take some with the headbands that I made. She will not be able to really where the headbands until she is about 4 months because they are still a little lose.

Happy 2 Month B-day Mady and her First 2 Month Shots
Today, Mady had her 2 month check up and the results are she... is 10 lbs and 23 in long. She is growing great according to the charts. Also, she had her shots (something I was not looking forward too). She did very well and WE only cried for a little while. I got her home and she went right to sleep. Drowiness, fever and fussiness are some side effects from the shots and so far (crosssing my fingers) she has only expereinced the drowiness. I had to wake her up twice already to have her feed because she was due for a feeding. We go back again to the doctors in Nov. for her 4 month check up and more shots.
We have been expereincing some problems with Mady's poopies. On Sunday ,which was day 4, she had not pooped. Then, just before leaving to go to church (and we were going to be on time for once) Miss Mady had a BM. She was crying and her face was turning red so I knew she was trying really hard and it finally came out. My poor little one! :( I just hope she does not take after me. She had went again yesterday which was good but again she was crying when she was going. We talked to the doc today and we have to continue to give 1/2 of water and 1/2 of either apple, grape or prune juice.
Danny is back in school and boy did I give him a load. He goes to school Monday: school 7-8, then work from 9-5, then school again 6-9; Tues: school 7-8, then 810-1100 then work 12-8; Wed: school 7-8, then work 9-5 and then to the gym from 545-7; Thurs: school 7-8, then 810-1100 then work 12-8 and Fri he only works from 9-5. I know that it is a lot, but he is smart. One of the classes is a Communication class, which should not be hard, then other one should be a refresher from 2 semester's ago. He has to retake an Anatomy class because the one he took does not meet the criteria for the nursing program, so he is taking the Anatomy class for nursing now.

Worst Night So Far
Miss Madison was very colicy I believe. It wasn't a cry for food or gas, but of course you never know. I did feed her once about 130am because I knew she was due for another feeding. It was about 1 am and she was still upset. Once we put her down into the bassinet she would cry bloody murder at the top of her lungs and then you went to go picked her up she was fine. It finally got to the point where I picked up the bassinet (it is a movable bassinet) and brought her in the spare bedroom so Danny could get at least 7 hours of sleep. She was fussy a couple more times and then she started to quite down so I am unsure when she eventually went to sleep. It is unfortunate that I do not know what time she went to bed because I was going in and out of sleeping.
She finally woke up about 815 this morning and ate about 1 oz and now the princess is sound asleep in her bassinet.
I haven't really gotten a chance to talked to my parents yet about applying for the program so here you go Mom and Dad:
I applied to Walden University Masters in Nursing program. One part of the application process is to write in a paper format and answer all these questions on why I want to go to graduate school, what my educational background is, work experience, specializations etc. I also have to get my transcripts from the other schools and mail that in to the school. I put in a call to my advisor to ask a couple of questions regarding the difference between the Masters in Nursing and Masters in Health Admin. Also, I called my work to find out how much of the schooling they will pay for. It is an estimated cost of $18,000 for the school for 2 years which includes the books I guess. I will keep you posted on what happens.

Madison's 2nd Big Adventure
This first picture is of my niece Jayden's at her 5th b-day party. We had just went to Simi for her b-day and to have Miss Madison meet her new cousin's for the first time. It was so cute because she wanted to hold Mady the whole time while we were there.

Thankyou Marisa
http://picasaweb.google.com/dfojc32/FamilyAnd1stYearAnniversaryPics
Thankyou very much Marisa for Miss Madison's outfit. It fits her just right, but in a week or two it will not fit anymore. My little girl is getting bigger already.
The anniversary dinner went great. It was nice to get out of the house and have a nice dinner with Danny. We of course talked about Miss Madison but also the years that we have been together ( 5 years in total). We went to a really nice Italian resturant. It is so nice that they have waiters in the far back of the resturant where they can see people eating so when you are done withe your plate they come right away to clear the area.
A shout out to my cousin Marisa "Happy Birthday"! Have a great day!

The Gonzalez Big Adventure
We finally left about 5pm and knew she would not get hungry because she just had eaten. No, No, No it was when we drove out of the camp site she is crying again and is hungry. We pull over and have her latch on because it has been about 4 1/2 hours since I last pumped. After about 10 mins she is good and we are on our way home. We finally get home about 6 15 which is not bad (it only takes about 45 mins to get to the River).
Well, that was really Miss Madison and my big adventure in close to 2 months. It was great to get out and see Aimee and everyone.
Happy 1 Year Anniversary
Happy Anniversary Babe! It has already been 1 year can you all believe it. Time has gone by so fast.

Miss Madison's Dr. Appointment Results
Danny starts school on the 26th and I am sure he is not looking forward to it but he has to finish. He has come so far and he is almost there. He will hopefully be able to apply for the nursing program next Jan as he has 4 more classes he has to take before he can apply.
Monday night for some reason Miss Madison was screaming bloody murder for 3 hours with Danny and 30 min for me. I guess it was gas but who knows. I eventually took off her clothes and put her to my chest and playing some soft music and she then really calm down. Poor Danny should have gotten me earlier to help him (I guess he did not want to bug me because I was sleeping). She finally went to bed about 230 am and slept the rest of the day but did wake up for feedings.
Her diaper rash has gone away thanks to my cousin Marisa for the cream. Also, I found that when I used a certain wipe to wipe her she got the diaper rash again so needless to say we stopped using those particular wipes.
Everything else is going great and I can not wait until Miss Madison and I can walk in the mall, park and visit Daddy at work when she gets her first shots.

1 Month Old
Tuesday night Miss Mady decided that at 230 am she did not want to go to sleep or sit in her chair while I pump. So of course, I have to pick her up and she is happy as can be with her smiles and open eyes. So almost 2 hours later she is finally asleep and I very much sleepy am excited to go back to bed but I still have to finish my pumping. Then, Wednesday my parents had come over and my mom sent me to go take a nap while she watches Miss Mady. I felt so much better with that 2 hour nap (Thanks Mom).
Last night was much better (maybe because I had a little talk with her the night she kept me up). She ate her early breakfast and 1 hour later she went to bed.
I am back to working out which feels great and I just have 15lbs to lose to get back to my pre-prego weight.
Danny will post Miss Mady 1 month pic this weekend to show you how she has grown.

Test Results Are In
Danny's parents came up Sunday afternoon to see Miss Madison. Danny's mom ,Cathy, made some recipes that hopefully would allow more breast milk to come in. So we will see if any of them work. I mean to do get some but not enough to keep up with her.
Danny and I are doing well and getting our sleep as much as we can.
Today, I went to my OB Dr because last Thursday night I had a lot of fluid coming from my incision area in this one little spot. The fluid was normal in color, but of course the family wanted me to go in to have it checked out. Friday, my Dr was not in so I had to see his partner. All she did was squeeze come fluid and said to call on Monday to see Dr Perez. So, this morning I called and had to come in to see Dr Perez. He did not touch the scab and said if the fluid is still coming out just let it come out and if the color changes to give him a call. Of course, I brought Miss Madison with me because the girl's at the office had been wanting to see her. They all thought she was cute. She did good and slept the whole time (a whole 30 mins).
Danny's test results will be given to us tomorrow so I will let you know what they are very soon.

Rough Night
Miss Mady woke me up around 8 to feed again and she went right to sleep. Then, we both took a nap. She woke up again at about 1030 and wanting to feed again and she did and went right to sleep. Then, 1130 she woke up, yes an hour later, wanting more and I had just pumped so I gave her that milk. Boy this girl can eat, eat and eat.
I had Danny sleep in today since he worked really hard yesterday and he finally got up around 12.
Miss Mady eats, eats, poops, pees and sleeps. Boy, I can not wait until we can start playing and she can take real naps.
Danny is going to the casino today since he won the bet with the birth. I told him he has to go by 2 so that way I can get another nap in today. He better win some money or I will be mad.

Danny back at Work/ Miss Madison 2 week B-Day
Miss Madison had her 2 week B-day on Wednesday, so Happy B-Day Miss Madison. She is eating a lot more and now I think is starting to cry when she is hungry which I have been waiting for. She seems to stay up during the day for maybe 30 mins and then starts to get sleepy and hungry. She is starting to peel which means her new skin is coming in and she is starting to grow up already.
My parent have been over every day and did cook dinner on Tuesday night.

Madison's First Dr. Visit
Danny and I have been trying to catch up on our sleep and have been waking Madison up every 2 hours to feed her.
Today, I met with a lactation consultant for the hospital to go over some issues we are having with Madison latching on for feedings. She did give me another tip to use for feedings, but she highly recommended that I pump every 2 hours to get some milk flowing. The lactation personnel said that possibly my milk production is too slow for her when she latches on and Madison gets angry; therefore, I have to pump every 2 hours. Also, we should also substitute formula if we have too but start with the breast milk first. She was really nice and helpful we just hope that something will happen soon (I meaning it has already started but not a huge amount) before Danny goes back to work.
My parents have been very helpful with cooking us dinner and watching Madison at times when we sleep. However, Madison just sleeps all the time anyways so there is not much to do just yet.
We received a call from the California Newborn Screening for Genetic Testing and Madison had MCADD and GA1 deficiency's. She has to take Caritine which I guess she a vitamin we will have to give to her through the bottle. Her test came out slightly positive so we have to recheck her levels this week. Please keep Madison in your thoughts and prayers that the test will be okay and Madison will not have any problems.

Welcome Miss Madison Kathleen
The c-section went well and I am healing just fine from the surgery. I was up and walking the next day to help aid in my recovery. The day of the surgery Danny's parents, younger brother, sister and her family were there for the delivery (oh and of course my parents). Right before the Dr took out the baby they asked "So you really do not know"and we responded by saying "No we do not". So then they were asking "so who thinks what the sex is" and we responded with some answers, just then to Dr showed Danny the baby and Danny announced to me "Its a girl" both Danny and I started crying. It was the most amazing feeling and excitement to not know what you are having until the big announcement. After she came out of course Danny went with her to the nursery as the Dr's were finsihing up. In recovery they brought her over to me so I could start to breast feed then they brought me to my room. Of course, everyone wanted to hold her and for me I let them since I would have her that night.
I was discharged from the hospital on Friday morning and that night was really hard. Miss Madison did not want to feed nor did she want to wake up to want to feed.
On Saturday morning, Danny and I contacted the lactation consultant to get some advice and she said to contact the Dr. We contacted the Dr and she did not seem concerned and to wake her up every 2 hours and if needed give her some formula. Saturday, was hard on me with of course came some crying. My brother David and his wife and daughter came to visit and took some amazing pictures of her. That night my mom made us dinner while the rest of the gang went to the movies. Saturday night was the hardest night because she would not sleep nor feed. However, she did finally sleep after she had a large poop and then she did eat.
Today, my mom came over and she cooked us breakfast. Then, Danny and I went to bed. Feeding are a lot better and I do have some milk coming in which is helping.
My daughter is beautiful and amazing and I just hope and pray that she will grow healthy and strong.

Last Day until Motherhood
I do not think it has really hit me yet, but it probably will tonight and if not tonight definitely tomorrow.
I have to say that I am nervous, but excited all at the same time. However, being a mom has not hit yet.
We leave for the hospital tomorrow at around 615 am so we can get there at 630am.
I will write when I return!

1 Day Left
Then, my mom and I went to the hospital to get some blood work done for the surgery. We came home as my Dad was cleaning the floors and my mom and I got to work finishing the last of the cleaning which was the living room. We are officially ready for the baby.
July 4th my dad and danny did some things around the house and then my parents took off to go back to the RV. Danny and I decided to go out to dinner together which was nice and came back and watched a movie. Oh yeah, my mom and I saw "Strangers" at the $1 movie place and boy was it stupid. Spanky, you are crazy if you thought that was scary.
Saturday, we all went to Costco and I finished the laundry. My parents cooked us dinner and we played domino's. Danny's little bro I guess was in town and was having some girl problems and asked if he could come over and we said yeah. So he was included in with dinner and domino's.
Sunday, Danny and I went to church and he played X-Box while I returned some things at the mall. Then, we all went to BJ's restaurant for my last real meal before the baby is born. I have to be on a soft diet for 2 days because of possible bowel problems after the c-section (as you all know that I have that problem). I do have to admit that being prego has helped my bowels so much and maybe I should not stop being pregnant (j/k).
I was such a nice wife that I told my parents that Danny is not doing anything this weekend and taking it off and doing what he wants to do. He has done so much stuff around the house and helping my parents that he deserved a 3 day weekend of laziness before the baby arrives.
Wed, I have to be at the hospital at about 630am and I will be the 3 surgical case so you all look for a phone call around 9 or so.

9 Days and Counting
We have the date already on the book for July 9th, but we still do not know of a time. Every Wednesday my Dr assist Dr. Root's surgeries, so I will have to be planned around the surgery schedule and will know of a time maybe next Monday but defrinately on Tuesday. I have to arrive at the hospital 2-3 hours before my scheduled time so the nurse's can put an IV, give antibotics, go over instrustions and whatever else they need to do.
This whole week I will be finishing on my scrapbooking, and deep cleaning the house with my mom and Danny.
This past weekend on Saturday we had a garage sale and made $125 then around 4 the boy's went to go see Wanted and the girls went to go see Maid of Honor. Sunday we went to see for Riley's b-day party and came home around 730pm.
The Kim and Danny days are coming to an end and we plan this weekend to really relax and not do anything. Maybe Danny will play the x-Box and we both can play the Wii; also, watch some movies like Vantage Point (comes out July 1). Sunday we plan to all go out to dinner at MY CHOICE of resturant. Monday and Tuesday of next week I have to be on a soft diet because of the possibility of having bowel problems after surgery. Of course, with any surgery your body for some reason shuts down the bowel and the bladder, so my Dr would like me on a soft diet before I have the surgery.
The offical names of the baby for a boy is: Marcus Anthony Gonzalez and girl is: Madison Kathleen Gonzalez.
Danny guess for the delivery is 7lbs 2oz, 17 1/2 in and at 8:46 am (girl).
Kim guess for the delivery is 6lbs 4oz, 19 in and at 8:45am (boy).
We will see who wins.

Relaxing
Well not much as been going on over here. I have just been relaxing and taking it easy before the baby arrives.
We have finished the baby's room and started to get the rest of the house organized before the baby arrives.
I did have my OB appt last Monday and I did have a stool sample taken a week prior to my appt because I had been having a lot of diahrrea. The results revealed that I was carrying a bug called Campylobacter. It is a reportable bug to the Public Health Department, but I have not yet received a call from them. It was very interesting to hear but I must have gotten it from the baby shower that weekend prior to getting sick.
Danny and I saw The Happening and it was not very good so I do not recommend you see it just rent it on video when it comes out.

I am still alive
Well, Monday night about an hour before leaving work I just did not feel right. When I got home I told Danny I did not feel good and did not want anything to eat. In the middle of the night I was getting the chills and not sleeping well. I decided to go into work evn though I should have called in. By the time I got to work I could not stop dry heaving and throwing up. I called the nursing office and told them they needed to call someone in because I will not make it. Thank God my co-worker came in for me at about 930am.
When I got home I just did not feel well. I was not throwing up anymore but I had the chills. Danny had called the dr. office and they told him to to have my mom take my temp and if was > an 101 to come in at 130. So I took my temp and it was about 101.5. So, my dad took me into the office and there my temp was about 102.2. The dr. came in and did an exam and concluded that I had a virus. He said to go home stay on clear liquids and if it gets worse then call him and I would have to go to the hospital. Danny worked late that night and by the time he got home the temp was still 102. So, danny called the Dr, and as he was calling the Dr, the Dr was calling us on the house phone. Danny told him was was going on and he said just go straight to the hospital and he will call the hospital to let them know I was coming.
At the hospital my temp all night long was going up and down 100, 101 then 102. Then to make matters worst I started having diarrhea, just like the Dr. said I would have. At the hospital of course they put an IV in so I could have fluids and gave Tylenol around the clock to bring down my temp. At about 6 in the morning the temp when down to 98.9. The Dr had come in a short while later and said he was going to have me eat a clear liquid tray for lunch and come by again to see how I was doing. Later that day he had come in and said when the tray gets here and you are able to hold it down and the temp stays down then you can go home. So, later that afternoon I was discharged.
I went home and still cont to have have a couple of high temps. The Dr. called me at home to see how I was doing and I let him know the temps were still coming and going along with the diarrhea. He said to just keep taking the Tylenol and keep on clear liquids.
So, now we are on Thursday morning because Tuesday I was admitted and Wed I was discharged.
Thursday I was still feeling like crap and having the temps with the diarrhea so I just rested on the couch all day long. The Dr. had called me again that night to check up on me and he said if at all I get worst this weekend to give him a call. Late, Thursday night I started having these really bad cramping pains in my lower abdomen that we going to my back. So, I was thinking that they might be contractions. These were happening all night long but where not consist. I had called the hospital at about 2 or 3 in the morning to ask them if they were contractions they said they could be, but since I was dehydrated to drink some water (about 2 glasses) to see if they would go away and i they did not they said to come to the hospital. So, by the time Danny got up to get ready for work they were still coming and going. At about 1130 I decided I was going to call the Dr and ask them what I should do. They said they sound like contractions and go to the hospital. So, again I went to the hospital.
I was having contractions and they had given me some medications and let me go home. When I got home I had a couple of more contractions and still, yes still having diarrhea.
Friday, I just layed around the house to get better.
Saturday, we had to call the on-call Dr because I was having loose, bloody stool and he said to take Kaopectate to help. And it slowly did.
Sunday, I was writing this so I must be feeling better and just having the diarrhea, with no contractions.
YES, I AM ON MY WAY TO RECOVERY!
PS Thank you to my mom for cleaning the house and doing to laundry, while also taking me to the hospital. And Dad for taking me to the Dr and the hospital! Love you papa for taking care of me and forcing me to drink h20.
Baby Shower
As it goes the colored people have their own time, so his family did not show up until 3 hours after the time the baby shower was suppose to begin.
We got a lot of great gifts and we were really blessed to have everyone there. :)

What a Surprise!!!!
However, once I walked into the hospital they all go "Surprise". It was a surprise baby shower for me. I started crying of course. It was so thoughtful and nice for them to do. They made food, brought drinks and got me a cake.
I got the bassinet, changing organizer, bottle dryer, clothes, wash cloths, bath stuff. It was just all so nice and thoughful.
I was a great day! :)

Happy Birthday Dad!
My parents came into town yesterday and both Danny and I were excited to see them because we had to show them something. Well, you know we have been doing a whole bunch of work on the house and one of the projects was to paint the outside of the house. So Danny, took it into his own hands and painted the whole house, YES THE WHOLE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. He did this by waking up around 6 am and stopping at about 7pm this past weekend. I was so proud of him, that I could not hold it inside much longer. So, when my parents came into town I had called my mom and asked,"when are you going over to the house". My mom stated that they had friends at the RV park so they were not sure what time or if they would go over to the house that day. So me and my big mouth, I said to my mom, "okay you can not tell Dad or Danny I am telling you this, but Danny painted the whole house for Dad's b-day gift." All my mom could say was "Holy shit, he did not". Mom my was quit surprised about the whole thing herself.
So, they came over right before i just got home from work. My dad and mom was very thankful for all that Danny had done. So, Happy Birthday Dad we hope you like your gift!
I have to admit, I have picked a wonderful husband who I am proud to say it my husband. He goes above and beyond what is expected for him and he always helping my parents house with there projects every summer. I was so proud of him I had to tell my mom and brag about what he had done because he did a great job.
Great Job Papa, I love you!

Great News!!!
Also, we met with the pediatric doctor today and he and his partner were really nice. The doctor sat down and asked us to tell him a little bit about ourselves, the baby and my pregnancy so far. He was highly recommended to me from the pediatric floor. So, Dr. Shah is going to be the baby's doctor and I am glad to have him to watch over the baby. It is so nice to be working in the medical field because you know who to go to and who not to choose.
Well, got to go work out!
Bye
3D Ultrasound
So, we went to the 3D ultrasound this past weekend on Sat and I have to say that this baby is really stubborden. I had eatin some strawberries and yogurt before I left to get something in my stomach because I new when we got back we would have breakfast. So, we get there and the lady is really nice. Of course you have to fill out stupid paperwork stuff and pay first. Then, they brough us into the room. There was a bed for me to lay on which was super comfortable and chairs and recliners for other people to sit on. There was a hugh screen in front of me and another TV in the corner if anyone was sitting over that way.
First, she goes "here we go, cover your eyes". She started playing this music which was so soft and I started to cry. I am such a baby. We saw the baby for the first time and it had it arm across its face and sleeping. And I have to say, that is how I sleep, how weird is that. But, anyways the lady kept trying to tap my belly to wake up the baby but nothing and she did this for a good 10 mins. There were a couple times the baby did take the hand of the face so we could see part of the face. It has Danny's nose and lips! Hint Hint....
She had me eat a bar and drink some apple juice, do a couple of streches and then she could re check again. Again, the child would not show his/her face completly. We did see the hand, foot and one ear and she did this for maybe 30mins. I then had to go pee and walk up and down the stairs. I came back again we re-checked the baby and still the baby did not move. See I told you the baby was stubborn. We did get a couple of good pictures, especially when the baby gave us a peace sign in front of the face and the other when the baby smiled at us. I will have my dad post the pic when they return.
Then, Sunday we had the Grimmway picnic which Grimmway Farms does every year for the employee's (the carrot cleaners, packers, stackers etc.) and Danny's company comes to provide medical services. We only had 2 people which was great, but for one of them we were in the sun for maybe 15 mins and I got so burnt. This sucks having fair skin. Thanks Dad!

Too Much For Me....
First, you have to fast (so I had not eatin anything until Tuesday at 1pm and then an apple at 730pm). So, Wednesday I went to go get my test. She first took blood then said I had to pee, then you have to get blood taken every 30mins plus pee X2, then it would be every hour and pee for a total of 3 hours. I felt so naueous drinking all of that water in order to make me pee. I finally had to pee so bad that when it came to the hour marks I would pee just a little and hold it in another hour so I could pee the next time. But, the weird part about the whole thing was that I was not hungry until the last blood draw which was great. If 2 out of the 4 blood draws are + then I will have gestational diabetes.
It was very upsetting and emtional because I eat right, workout and do what is healthy for the baby and I get this news. I am more worried about the baby's health than mine because I know I will return back to normal, but when the baby is born the baby could be at risk after the delivery.
Also, on another upsettig note. I had my doc appt yesterday and I mentioned that I had not felt the baby move all day. And just when I said that, of course, the baby kicked. So, the doc wants me to do fetal kicks and go for a nonstress test that day. The nonstress test is when they hook you up to the fetal monitor and give you a button. You press the button every time you feel the baby kick. You should feel at least 10 kicks in an hour. I was not able to go that day so I went today. And, everything is normal and fine. For some reason the baby just was not active that day I guess because today the baby kicked tons. Thank God!!!
I have, I think 15 more days left to work and I am excited.
I have this weekend off and Danny and I have an appt to go for the 3D ultrasound to see what the baby looks like. And for all of you who want to know the sex..... your just going to have to wait until the delivery. If Danny and I can not know then no one else can know. I am really sorry :(

Valley is Preparing Us
So, then I tried to call my mom and tell her the funny news and of course she did not answer. So she called me this morning and I told her what happened. She said "Valley is just preparing the both of you for parenthood." Now I see why my cousin Marisa said to register for 2 fitted sheets, because things like this are going to happen.
How the accident probably happened is when Danny puts me to sleep it leaves Valley in the room with me and closes the door. Well, she has been I guess getting on the bed because when he comes to bed there she is on his side of the bed. And of course she is old and is going to have accidents.
So, there you have it I am already preparing myself for motherhood having Valley with me.

Re-cap Since 4/26
Saturday, Emerson (Danny's BF) and his girlfreind Marina came up to Bakersfield so that Danny and him could watch the Laker Game. Yes, the lakers beat the other team. Danny and I then cooked them dinner. It was about 9 pm when they just decided to head back home instead of staying the night. I guess Marina had to work on Sunday and Emerson wanted to sleep in. So they took off.
Sunday, Danny and I went to church. We cleaned around the house and just relaxed for once.
Monday, was the start of a long week. I was to work Monday - Friday and 12 hour shifts. I picked up a shift on Thursday (which was going to be my only day off). However, I was lucky because one of the co-workers picked up my Friday. YES!!!! I had the whole weekend off. I could not wait because I had a patient who was on the call light all the time wanting me to come and talk with her. For example, she would stop the IV machine and so the machine would peep. I would then have to go in there and fix it. Damn she was a pain in my ass and yes, I had her all 4 days and I needed a break from her. I was lucky because on the 3rd day she went to surgery and I did not have to worry about her until she came back to me at change of shift. I have comed to enjoy eldery people. I mean I have always really liked them, but where I work I love to have them as patient's (at least the one's that are mentally with it).
Pregnancy News: I can tell that I am retaining a lot of H2O because my legs during work are swollen and my fingers go a little numb. I was not able to workout this week, so I have saved that for the weekend.
Friday, was not every excititng for me because I had to do some things, like the banks and go pay a Macy's bill. I then came home and watch the movie 27 bridesmaid dresses, or is it 27 dresses, well, needless to say it was a cute movie.
Today, we have a couple people coming over to work on the cable, yard and Danny getting ready to paint (at least he said he was). Me, I will be cleaning the house and doing laundry.

Family and Work Weekend
In addition, Saturday one of our nurses lost a patient suddenly and the family was so heart broken specially because the wife did not know what her husband would have wanted (I mean they both decided, but then they were going back and fourth on what he (the patient) really wanted if something were to happen). It was an unfortunate situation and I can not get into detail because of confidentately, but just remember this always take each day as if it were your last because you never know when God is going to take you. The patient had been awake, walking, talking and waiting for the doctors to give him a finally diagnosis and then he just died.
Sunday, I went into work and was a break nurse so I had to give everyone lunch breaks and help where ever the nurse's needed on my floor only. So, I also left work early and thank goodness because I was so tired.
Saturday when I got home from work we had dinner with my brother, Jodi and Riley. Then after dinner Danny and I took them to a ice cream palor which I think we all really enjoyed (I hoped they did at least Riley did). I bitched to the manager and the waiter because Danny never got his shake and we all got our ice cream and so we got the shake for free. My parent's left back to the RV while the rest of us went right to bed. Sunday, David wanted to take me to work to show Riley where I worked but really he just wanted to drive my BMW (which he almost crashed a couple times). He likes to look at everything including what's in the car and almost hitting the side rails to the right of us on the freeway. I was having heart attacks in the back seat.
I have been very tired lately and feeling a little under the weather. I am very uncomfortable at night and can not get comfortable for the life of me. This sucks!
I had my doc appt yesterday (Monday) and my mom came with me. Everything so far is great. I had asked him, "everyone kepts telling me I am small, is everything okay with the fluids and the baby", he responded just tell them "Thank you". No, but everything is normally and he said that I am holding my baby close to me since my muslces are so tight. My other question was my weight. I gained 9 lbs since my last visit making it already 30lbs. I weight 138 or 140 before I got pregnant and now I am 168. This sucks, but the doc said I am tall and will probably gain more but my weight is healthy and good and not to be worried. But, hell I am because that is a lot and I do not eat bad one bit, in fact, people at work make fun of me because I eat so healthy. I hope I do not really gain more weight!!! BUT WATCH I WILL LOSE ALL THE WEIGHT, YOU JUST WATCH!!!!! :)

Another Weekend in Bako
I had this pass weekend off which was great. I love when I have weekends off to spend with Danny and now my paretns since they are in town.
I was suppost to work on Tuesday but they called me at 430am and told me I was on standby which sucks, but oh well.
Danny started to get sick on Sunday night and Monday he was not any better, so I took Danny to the doc's appt yesterday (Tues). The doc said that he has a severe sinus infection and gave him a shot of Ketalog (antihistamine) and some pills from his office. I went to the store and got him some nite time severe head cold so he could sleep and sure enough he was asleep by 8 pm. He called his boss at Grimmway this morning to see what he should do since he is the only Medical Admin. there and his boss said stay home and get better so no one else gets sick and so he is in bed sleeping.
This morning I wanted to write on the blog but sure enough my computer did not register my username and password last time I used it, so I had to wait for my Dad to come and fix the whole thing (stupid computer). I started cleaning the house and doing laundry since my brother David and the clan are coming down this weekend. But, what sucks is that I have to work all weekend long Fri, Sat and Sun and I need the money before the baby comes.
Nothing knew in Bako, except my parents are fixing up the paint on the house before they can paint cover the fix-ups. It was pretty hot this weekend meaning another hot and humid summer again in Bako. But, this pass two days have been in the 60's.
I have a doc appt on the 21st so I will keep you all updated on the baby news. Yes, next week I will be 7 months. :)

Boring Weekend
As for the rest of the clan my Mom, Dad and Danny they weren't so lucky. Danny, Friday night painted the wall where my Dad tore out the cabinets (the cabinet's located in the kitchen area by the dining room table). On Saturday, Danny did the lawn while my parent's finished inside the house. On Sunday, they put the desk(my grandma's desk) where we tore out the cabinets, took down my desk and moved the dining room table into the computer room and moved the other couch where the dining room table was before. This whole transition makes the house look more open.
The baby is moving a lot in my tummy except I noticed that it was not moving much on Saturday. But, I remember reading in my book and the dr. mention that sometimes it will move a lot and other days not so much, so I was not too worried. And as I was thinking that the baby was not moving much, sure enough it started moving all around. I think it is a boy and Danny thinks its a girl so we will see. We have a bet going with the sex of the baby and if I win i get $40 to Jama Juice and he gets $40 to go gamble. But, now that I think about it he kinds of gets the better deal because he gets to get out of the house and stay out for awhile and me on the other hand get to grab a drink and have to return. That sucks!
Wednesday, April 2, 2008
Last weekend we went down to Simi to go see friends. We ate at El Patio and then after that Danny and I headed down to North Hollywood to visit with his parents and then to go out to dinner with Emerson, his best friend, and Emerson's girlfriend Marina. After, we went back to this parents and talked for a little while and went to bed. Before I went to bed I told Danny, "so where are you going to sleep because this bed is all mine, you can sleep in the single bed in one of the rooms", and he did not say anything. So, in the middle of the night I woke up to his Unlce coming home from work at about 2 am and there was no Danny sleeping next to me. I got really sad and I thought, that he thought I was really serious about the whole sleeping arrangments and really slept in the other room. But, before I fell back to sleep here comes Danny. I said "where have you been and I was just joking about the sleeping arrangments". He said, he was playing the X-Box with his brother Alex. And then he came to bed with me.
On Sunday we met up with Jesica and the girls, David, Jodi and Danny's parents came too. We ended up not getting home to Bakersfield til 2pm. We then had to clean up the mess from the construction and re-connect the TV and all the other equipment that comes along with a TV like that stupid X-Box, DVD and our cable box. Oh, so much fun.
Nothing new in Bakersfield, just work and more work. Tonight Danny and I will be taking my parents out for their Anniversary dinner since i do not work and Danny gets off at 5.
