Miss Madison's Dedication

This past Sunday was Madison's dedication to our church. She looked so beautiful in her dress and did very well up on stage. I wanted to Thank everyone who came down for her dedication as it was something very important for Danny and I. We had to church pray for her and she was welcomed into our church. After church we headed back to our house were we then had pizza and talked with everyone. Miss Madison was passed around and started to get fussy towards the end of the day when people were leaving because she never truly got her nap. She finally went to bed about 730 and then woke up about 430 in the morning, which I knew that was going to happen. I fed her then put her in her crib in the room because she was still awake and she put herself back to sleep without crying on bit. Boy, she is such a great baby and I am truly blessed! I need to mention that Mady loves to watch cartoons. I put her in her chair and have her watch some cartoons, which she is doing now, and she loves it. Most of of stuff I put on talks about numbers, letters and some other stuff. Also, she had begun to suck her thumb. She has never wanted the pacifier, but her thumb and now she has found it and puts it to use.

I started going to Stroller Strides which is a mommy and baby class. We go to the park and workout with our babies. I really enjoy it and I only go once a week because of my hours at work and the other hours do not work for me. I hope to met some new mommy friends.

Everything is going well in the Gonzalez household. Danny is still truckin along with school and work and is doing a great job. He only has 6 more weeks left of school and I keep encouraging him to hang in there and keep up the good work.
I do have to mention that I am in love with Craigslist.com. I have found two items for Miss Madison when she gets to be about 5 months she will be able to put them to use. They are in great condition and I got great deals. It is my new favorite shopping for Mady. You should look it up it has some great deals. I have got my dad hooked on it now.

I will have Danny post the pictures of her 3 month pictures, her dedication and some other pictures soon.

Back to Work

So, this week I was back at work on Thursday. And of course it has to be on my first day back they put me as a nursing aid, oh well, I do not mind really. It was not that busy and I had a good team. All my co-workers and doctors were glad to see that I was back to work. Of course they asked what I had and I showed them a picture of my beautiful little girl.

Work has changed so much with regards to dispensing medication, new protocols etc. So much to learn again in this line of business. This is why I kind of hate floor nursing because everything changes and it is never for the better. These people who think of this "great" ideas and they get implemented never think about the staff and if it is going to work for them. For example, we use to have medication carts and they are individual assigned to each patient and you role that cart to each of the rooms to dispense their medication to them. However, now we have to walk (I mean I do not mind the exercise since I can not work out the days I work) all the way to the middle of our department where there is a Pxis machine get out the medication for 1 patient, give them there medication then do it this each time for all 5 patients. It is a lot of work. Then, you have other patients wanting something for pain and then you have to go back to the machine to get that medication. And mind you that you have 5 nurses on the floor doing this for all the patients and their is one machine for that floor. Yep it sucks!

I truly missed Miss Madison on my first day back to work. I called my mom like 5 times I think to check to see how my mom was doing. I know Miss Madison is a great baby but since there was someone new I wanted to make sure they were both holding up and of course they were. My mom knows what to do, but since it has been a long time I just wanted to check in to see how things were going. On Wednesday I was talking with Miss Madison and telling her when mommy goes to work try to stay wake so we could see each other and she has been. On my first day back I held her and was telling her about my day and of course she was cooing back to me. I started crying because I truly missed her and all the fun we had playing, talking etc. I got past the crying and knew that me getting out of the house and going to work would make me a better mom when I come back home to take care of her. I work 3 days out of 4 which is great and I still get to be home with her and see her develop. I do not think I could do a Mon-Fri job because that would ultimately kill me emotionally.

I was suppose to work today but they have put me on stand-by which really sucks. I still have to go to work to get my flu shot and then I guess start cleaning the house.

Danny is doing great and working/studying hard. He has another test this Monday in another class so he will be studying all weekend.

This Sunday we are getting Mady blessed at our church and we are really excited.

I am so confused :{

So, I do not know if you all know this but I have really been thinking about going back to school, but which do I choose from. Here are the following options:
A. Master's in Nursing
B. Master's in Nursing/ Health Administration (which is a combined course)
C. Certificate as a Legal Nurse Consultant
D. Forensic Nursing

All of these classes are online, but A and B are schedule week courses and C and D are courses that you do at your own time and you have up to 12 months to finish the classes. But, here is the really issue I am so worried I am going to do horrible because they are Graduate courses and I lose out on that money. Also, do I want to spend $20,000 for either A or B, or $ 4,000 on option C and D? I really have been looking for a sign, so God please someone give me a sign!!!!
Yes, having a Master's in nursing will help option C and D, but then option C I can work from home eventually once I build my clients and have some more experience, but at least I would have that certificate. Okay enough about me lets talk about Mady.

It has been day 4 with no poopies yet and I have been praying that she will go poopies because I really do not want to call the Dr on a Sat. again. She is 3 months already, boy can you believe it? I will take her picture today with Danny and have him post them on the computer this weekend. I forgot to mention that we have some more pictures and a video posted so check those out. On Sunday Oct 19th we are getting Miss Madison blessed at our church and I am so excited because I bought her the cutest dress for that day and also to have her introduced at our church. I know both sets of parents will be there and I hope that our friends will be able to make it along with other family.

Danny is hard at working with school work. He has to study hard this weekend because he has another test with Anatomy, but I know he will do great he has to just study hard.

I, on the other hand, as you read above have been stressing about what I should do. I go back to work next Thursday and also doing Flu shots for my hospital and Medcor my other per diem employer.

It is starting to get cooler here in Bako and so that means winter clothes and not taking Mady out so much.

Poor Miss Madison

For those of you who do not know Miss Mady has been having some poopy problems and she has been constipated. You may say "She is too young", but according to our Dr I guess it is common. Children do not really develop normal routine bowel movements until they are 4-6 months in age. Miss Mady is going to be 3 months in 3 days and I hope this problem will clear up. Mady poops almost every 3 days, but this last time I think it was day 4 she had not gone. So, late Sunday afternoon she broke out in her bloody murder scream and I knew she was going so I rushed her into her room to wipe what she had then applied some lubriant to help with the next one. I forgot to mention that Danny was studying in the spare bedroom and came running out when he heard his baby girl screaming. I mean is was hard and poor thing was crying so hard and I do not blame her because it hurts. She was pushing so hard that her upper legs and pelvic area turned purple. She finally went one more time so I wiped her up and picked her up to console her. During this last poop she actually developed a fissure ( a little tare) so there was some blood, but very little. Then, when we both woke up from our nap Miss Mady had some yellow drainage coming from her left eye, just great a bacterial infection. I know she did not have pick eye because her eye was not pink.
Today, at 9 am I had to call the Dr to see if I needed to come in for her two problems and they said they wanted to see her at 12. The Dr said to keep giving the 1/2 water 1/2 juice but this time get the concentrated juice. Then, she looked at the anus and she did have the fissure at the 11 o'clock mark and she said to just put some neosporin ( do not know how to spell).
I really hope that her poopy problem will go away and she does not develop what I have. As for her eye I have to give some eye drops and it should go away and I am not too worried.
The weather is starting to get cooler and so she gets to wear new outfits for the winter time.
The rest of us are good and she just woke-up from her 1/2 night nap. So gotta go.
