Happy Early Thanksgiving

I can not believe that tomorrow will be Thanksgiving. Time as you know it is flying by so fast. Next month Miss Madison will be 5 months already.

I hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! I will be working from 7a-7p. David, Jodi and Riley will be coming up for Thanksgiving to have dinner with Danny, my parents and Mady.

What is new with Madison: She has already gone through eating rice cereal, oatmeal, barley and now she has started on the yellow vegetables. I have first started her on squash. She does not like it because she makes these funny faces and it is so funny. She is truly really trying to hold herself up when she is sitting with anyone on the couch. Even when I put her in the car seat she is trying to lift her head forward (like the movement when you are trying to lift your head/body up to sit). She is laughing and standing up with assistance. These past two days for some reason she has being up waking up at 4 am and then going back to bed. Oh yeah, we got her a jumper and she loves jumping and she goes crazy when she is in it. Also, she is starting to grab things in her sight. She is growing up before my eyes.Danny and I should start on a new one already (j/k)

We have taken a couple of videos of Mady eating rice cereal for the first time and her in the jumper, so when you have time take a look.

Danny has finals the week of the 8th so hopefully you all will be thinking of him during this stressful time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE :)

A time to Remember

So, as you all know Miss Madison is now 4 months old. We had went to the doctors last Wednesday for her 4 month check up. Of course, she got her shots which she did very well (as I did too). She cried for maybe a minute and then we went home. These are her measurements: 26 1/2 in (95%), 13.6 lbs (50 %) and the head is in the 30th %. She is getting so big I can not believe it. Also, at the doctors she talked about milestones which she is fully completely. Now, we have the privilege to start her on rice cereal. We started this on Sunday because I wanted to video tape this milestone in her life. She did a great job and ate almost everything. Danny did very well on his Anatomy test last Thursday and got the 4th highest grade in the class a 83% our of 23 students. The highest score was an 88%. Great job babe, keep up the good work. He has 3 more weeks left of school and boy we can not wait. He signs up for more classes today. We have decided that after he is done with all the pre -nursing courses he will apply to Moorpark, Pierce, Bakersfield, Arizona for nursing school and which ever he gets into first we will leave. It is almost a two year waiting list so that is why. Maybe I can talk him into Long Beach area too. Then, with my work I will become a traveling nurse and that way he will not have to work. Work is going well, but we are really slow. I am on-call today, but will probably get called in because there are surgeries and ER patients on hold. I also have to go into work another day this week because I have to go to competencies and if I do not go they pull you off the schedule and we can not have that happen. Also, we have decided that next summer maybe in July I will transfer to ICU to get some experience in there so I could transfer to Recovery. My ultimate goal is to be a traveling recovery nurse. Well, enjoy the video of Mady and her eating rice cereal! :)

There are two clips of Madi in our picture albums.

We Have Made History

Obama is the new President of the United States and wee have made history. It is amazing how far the US has come. Obama's speech last night was great as he was announcing his new presidency. He talked about a woman who is 106 years of age and all that she has gone through. It was amazing to hear about the slavery, depression, 9/11, war, voting and etc. Now all we need is a woman president to make another point in history.

Quick Update

I know it has been awhile since I have written in my blog so I will give everyone a quick update in the Gonzalez household.
Well, my parents have left for a week to go visit a couple of friends. I did not know that I was working my mom so much that she needed a break from Miss Madison. No, just joking they had to go to a funeral for one of there friends husbands who had passed away suddenly.

Danny is doing great and only has 4 more weeks left of school and we both are counting down the weeks/days until it is over. However, next semeter will be a little better, but Mon & Wed he will be getting home at 9 pm and Tues & Thurs at 830 pm so 4 late days.

I am of course back at work and I am really not liking my department. You see our floor is pretty much elective surgery so when you have no one scheduling surgery we do not have a full floor and that means either calling you off or putting you on stand-by which really sucks. I have been put on stand-by twice in one pay period, but luckly I got called to come to work on one of those days. However, if this happens again I do not know what I am going to do. Either go to a different hospital, department or go back to nights so I will be able to work and make money. We will see what happens and I will keep you posted.

Now to the fun part of this blog, Miss Madison. Boy, is she getting bigger and bigger. On Saturday night Danny and I finally got to hear her laugh for about 2 mins and it was great. We both started to cry. She is still sleeping through the night, but Sunday morning she woke up at 3 am and went back to bed at 4 and last night she did not sleep very well, but she did put her self back to sleep. She was not crying or anything, but she was kicking and making funny noises. She is also beginning to kind of roll to one side while sucking her thumb. She is still only crying when she is hungry, uncomfortable or she is bored. We have our next Dr visit Nov 9th so we will see her measurements and get more shots, oh how much fun for Mommy! She is beginning to really try and hold up her head and likes to sit up (of course while holding her). She is doing great! Danny will post more pictures of her this week on the blog.
